Basic Research is seeking a Brand Strategist.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES & ROLE

  • Develop, manage and maintain the content calendar across all of our products/brands
  • Develop and execute strategic content and communications strategies that educate and engage prospects and customers
  • Come to the table with creative ideas about how to tell the brand story to highly specific audiences
  • Craft content for highly targeted, multi-touch marketing campaigns that impact revenue and accelerate sales
  • Offer a content strategy perspective throughout the product development process, and influence strategic decisions to improve the overall experience and ensure consistency across platforms
  • Develop content frameworks, product narratives, and other deliverables that explain your recommendations and help people understand the practice of content strategy
  • Collaborate with design and content teams to create content in a variety of mediums for channels
  • Proactively create quarterly goals and reporting, with the ability to effectively resource and scale

EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least 5 years' experience drafting content strategy for consumer products (health & beauty a plus)
  • At least 2 years' social and digital marketing experience
  • Experience writing content for web/mobile products and developing style guides
  • Strategic and creative thinker
  • Proven expertise and a deep knowledge and passion for social media
  • Excellent verbal and written social skills
  • Self-starter possessing strong multi-tasking skills with strong attention to detail, organization, and good follow through skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office/Excel and Keynote, with strong Internet and research skills

REQUIREMENTS SKILLS

  • Well versed in health & beauty industry practices in digital and social marketing and confident taking the lead in providing either general or platform-specific recommendations
  • Knowledgeable of social listening and digital measurement systems and know how to use them to glean insight into consumer behaviors and digital-consumption patterns with a view to informing brand actions and communications in these spaces
  • Exceptional writer of strategy briefs that inspire content creators, community managers, UX designers, creatives and brand marketers
  • Ability to plan for the distribution and amplification of content with ability to offer clear recommendations for/plans for measuring the effectiveness of the efforts you devise
  • Excellent short- and long-form writing and communication skills
  • Proven collaboration with creative/design, content, demand generation and product teams
  • Proven ability to develop and deliver strategic content plans/calendars - successful candidate should be able to demonstrate successful outcomes from communications activities they have conceptualized, developed and executed
  • Strong project management skills - must be able to organize work in a methodical and rigorous manner in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Impact player - strong self-starter who is willing to make their mark in a fast-paced environment
  • Team player - low ego, low maintenance, no job too big or small, willingness to jump in as needed on anything
