What We're Looking for:

Basic Research has an exciting opportunity for a collaborative  Social Media Manager who is highly organized, extremely detail oriented and capable of working in a fast-paced environment with high expectations and demanding deadlines. The Social Media Manager will report into the Sr. Director of Digital Marketing and work  closely with the visual design and marketing teams. Our ideal candidate is responsible for managing all organic social media efforts across total portfolio. Create and implement organic social media strategies that increase awareness and engagement across all social platforms, review sites and influencer outlets. The ideal candidate will also assist in creating brand influencer communities and drive optimal interactions to drive engagement and grow the program. 


  • 2+ years of experience in social media and community management
  • Must be a powerful driving force behind social media strategy across major social media channels
  • Experience building and employing tactics to develop and grow followers, engagement and enhance brand awareness
  • Uses social media analytics and insights to continuously improve engagement. Strong understanding of native and outside analytics and has familiarity with social listening and aggregated analytics
  • Has employed new strategies to make the most of user generated content across the various social media channels and work to infuse these strategies into other channels (website, email, etc.)
  • Has been the expert and key resource when talking about new features for each social media platform and keep the digital marketing team updated
  • Has successfully managed communities and influencer groups to launch, grow size, and increase engagement while keeping Customer Experience in mind.



  • Bachelor Degree
  • Well-versed in all social media platforms, monitoring tools, analytics and listening tools such as Iconosquare, Hootsuite and Schedugram.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs and Adobe Creative Suite.

  • Partner with brand marketing and channel teams to develop effective campaigns, strategic partnerships and collaboration with related bloggers and influencers
  • Collaborate with brand team to plan and execute content calendars that will grow and engage our followers including advising on content, copy, UGC and brand voice criteria that will resonate with target audiences per platform
  • Brief and oversee production of all social creative and content elements with team members, designers and other content providers.
  • Outline and manage customer care relationships including response grids, reviews, FAQ's and response protocols
  • Utilize strong analytical ability to evaluate content and experiences across multiple platforms for all our focus brands
  • Create clear action plan to meet engagement and growth targets
  • Deliver regularly scheduled reporting and insights to influence content and channel optimization
  • Create ROI recaps for major programs
  • Provide thought leadership and recommendations on latest social media trends and best practices
  • Give social media support for any PR sponsored/Corporate events as needed
