Title: Email Marketing Manager

Reports to: Sr Dir, Digital Marketing

 

 

What We're Looking for:

Basic Research has an exciting opportunity for a collaborative Email Marketing Manager who is highly organized, extremely detail oriented and capable of working in a fast-paced environment with high expectations and demanding deadlines. The Email Marketing Manager will report into the Sr. Director of Digital Marketing and work closely with the visual design and marketing teams. Our ideal candidate will:

  • Be an experienced email marketer that will be responsible for the day-to-day management and hands-on creation and execution of our email marketing programs, including transactional, lifecycle, and promotional email while maximizing customer life-time value.
  • Manage our CRM, analyzing and mining our data to carry out audience segmentation and implement the appropriate marketing strategies.  
  • Follow market leading email innovations, test and analyze data, and move quickly to apply them to the execution of email campaigns.
  • Assist in driving projects that will increase metrics across the entire marketing funnel and customer journey.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform day-to-day email marketing activities including: email campaign set-up, light coding, scheduling, testing, deployment, and create dynamic content-driven campaigns.
  • Develop our brand's email channel to increase customer retention, generate customer acquisition, grow our database, and increase customer LTV.
  • Create a testing strategy to optimize results based on creative, message, offer, content, timing, audience, etc. Analyze and report findings and implement into email program.
  • Own email lifecycle strategy from ideation to completion of email.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues from customer lists, audience segments, HTML, and other aspects of email execution.
  • Ensure mobile friendly email templates.
  • Own, manage, and report on email KPIs weekly, period, quarterly, and annually.

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 3+ years of online marketing experience
  • 2+ years of experience in email marketing with ownership of email campaigns from concept to completion
  • Highly organized, results-driven, with exceptional attention to detail and comfort in data analysis
  • Self-starter that thrives under a fast-paced environment
  • Strong background in executing campaigns within an ESP/CRM platform. Familiarity with HTML and CSS. to be able to perform basic editing and troubleshoot
  • Has a passion for the customer experience and retention marketing
  • Appreciation for good design and email best practices
  • Mobile notification & eCommerce experience a plus
  • Knowledge of email best practices including targeted lists, subject lines, messaging, deliverability and CAN-SPAM/anti-spam legislation
  • Numbers-driven and analytical - able to translate data to make key business decisions and thrive in a fast-paced environment
